Ponies

Martha now loves ponies. She will pretend to be a pony and crawl around neighing. Sometimes she plays with Toshi’s stuffed ponies. And she gets a kick whenever she sees a pony depicted somewhere.

I picked up some generic Target pull-ups, and hoped they’d go over well since they had a pony on them. She was ESTATIC. She hugged her pony diaper and proudly showed them to Paul.

The other day, she said to me, “My pony is dirty.” Paul asked if that was how she was now telling me she needed a diaper change. Yep.

Today my aunt came over to visit. She told me (with a slightly quizzical look) that Marf said she had a pony in her pants. I explained that she got new pony diapers. My aunt thought that was the case.

Beyond ponies, we are still doing holiday stuff!

• We saw the Zoo Lights, which were really not that impressive and made me miss the Cincy Zoo Lights.
• We saw Santa and lots of nutcrackers in the mall.
• The girls rode the downtown carousel twice.
• We made gingerbread men. This year Marf helped decorate instead of just eating all the candy and icing.
• We caroled about half a song of Frosty the Snowman to my aunt and her family. Luckily Katie helped us with some of the words.
• We have been listening to the Muppet Christmas Carol soundtrack almost nonstop. Toshi sometimes does a puppet play to it, which is pretty hilarious.
• The girls like decorating the tree with any toy that will hang on a branch.
