Toshi is 6
Posted by kara
Toshi turned six! (Over four months ago. Minor detail.) She had a family Barbie party and a friend My Little Pony party. The family party went well. My aunt brought egg rolls, quite a hit!
I agonized about whether or not to invite the whole class or just the girls. There had been four all-class parties, and no just-girls parties. I suspected there were 1 or 2 all-boy parties, but wasn’t sure. Luckily, Paul was pretty adamant about not inviting the whole class. We invited just the girls, and I like to think that all the following party-planning parents were relieved. 😉 [Since Toshi’s party, there have been three all-girl parties and no all-class parties.]
Okay, enough of the statistics! I then agonized about all the activities to keep the kids busy. I think I planned about 10 games. We only did a few of them: make a purse, pin the cutie mark on the pony, hay search for a pony prize (I thought that was a cool one), toss the apple in the buckets, and a piñata (that Paul had to tear open and shake). Overall, it was good, but pretty hectic. I wouldn’t be surprised if we try to have parties outside the home from now on. (Might be worth the extra bucks to have less headache.)
In other news, I’m cleaning out the art drawer. Toshi is very opposed to me throwing the artwork away, but I cannot deal with keeping all this stuff. At least I’m making it into a book, right?
Here are some gems:

Martha’s Family “There are 4 people in my family. Daddy’s name is Paul. Daddy works at his work. He talks on the phone. He likes to watch sports on T.V. Mommy doesn’t work like Daddy does. She cooks and uses the vacuum. For fun she likes to wash dishes. Toshi likes to play with toys with me. My family likes to watch movies together.”
